Antique French brass coal iron with dragons

Antique French brass embers iron, from the end of 19th century / beginning of 20th. It shows a carved dragon decor in relief on both sides. The handle is in wood. In France, it’s called “ingot iron” or “ox tongue”. At the time, the ingot (a stone that was placed inside the iron) was placed in the hearth. Once incandescent, it was slipped into the iron through its guillotine opening. A beautiful decorative addition to any collection! ♥ CONDITIONS: very good, shows minor signs of use (refer to photos).
